What’s Happening

Starting August 2025, I will be transitioning my practice from NC Neuropsychiatry (NCNP) to my new independent practice, Wendell Psychiatry. I'm committed to making this as smooth and straightforward as possible for you and have detailed key points below.

Key Dates

  • Now – July 11, 2025: I will continue seeing patients through NC Neuropsychiatry.

  • July 12 – July 31, 2025: No scheduled appointments during this period. I’ll be finalizing logistics and preparing to welcome you to Wendell Psychiatry. I will still be available for interim needs (e.g., refills, side effect questions, rescheduling).

  • July 31, 2025: Deadline to confirm transfer of care through Wendell Psychiatry.

  • August 1, 2025, onward: Appointments will resume through Wendell Psychiatry for patients continuing care.

What You Need to Do

Confirm Continuation of Care
If we’ve already discussed your plans, no further action is needed. Otherwise, please let me know at your next appointment, through the NCNP portal, or by completing the form below if you'd like to continue care through Wendell Psychiatry or prefer to stay within NCNP.

If you confirm after July, you’ll need to request a transfer care using the contact form below.

Register on the New Patient Portal
Once you’ve confirmed your desire to continue care through Wendell Psychiatry, in June or July, you’ll receive an email with a link to our IntakeQ patient portal. This will be the primary system for scheduling, secure messaging, completing forms, and conducting virtual appointments. All continuing patients must register through this system.

Complete Digital Intake Forms
Before your first appointment after the transition, please complete the following in the portal:

  • Updated contact and demographic info

  • Consent forms, including release of information/records from NCNP

  • Insurance details and ID upload

  • Credit card authorization for billing

We will not be able to conduct your appointment until these items are completed.

Appointment Location

All appointments will be virtual only for now.

We do have a physical location available for specific clinical requirements, though this likely won’t apply to most transferred patients. A more permanent physical location is in development, and updates will be shared once available. We will eventually be located east of Raleigh in Wendell, NC.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will my treatment plan or medications change?
A: No. All current treatment plans will remain in place unless we decide together to make a change.

Q: What if I need assistance during July?
A: All appointments scheduled through NCNP before July 11 will proceed as planned. Between July 12–31, no appointments will be held, but I’ll still be available for urgent needs via NCNP.

If you have not confirmed your transition to Wendell Psychiatry by August, further care will need to be coordinated either through NCNP or you may request to transfer care via the contact form below and access to our patient portal will be sent.

Q: Do I need to transfer my records?
A: Yes. You will complete a release of information form to allow access to your NCNP records as part of the initial transfer protocol.

Q: Will my insurance still be accepted?
A: Wendell Psychiatry plans to accept the same insurance plans as NC Neuropsychiatry, unless otherwise notified. Any changes will be communicated clearly in advance. If your coverage changes or you have questions about eligibility, please notify us as soon as possible.

Q: Will my appointment day/time stay the same?
A: We’ll do our best to maintain your previously scheduled appointments, but there may be some adjustments based on availability. You’ll be able to request preferred times in the new portal, and we’ll prioritize continuity whenever possible.

Q: Can I still reach you through the NCNP portal?
A: Until August 1, 2025, yes. After that, communication will shift to the new IntakeQ portal for all patients continuing care.

Q: What if I don’t have a portal invite by July?
A: No problem, just use the contact form at the bottom of this page and we’ll make sure you get connected.

Q: What if I need records sent to another provider?
A: We can coordinate record transfers upon request. Just let us know where you'd like them sent, and we’ll handle it securely.

Q: Are you accepting new patients?
A: Yes, though initial availability will prioritize existing patients. New patients can join the waitlist through the contact form.

Q: What if I change my mind about continuing care?
A: That’s okay. You can let us know at any time if you prefer to stay with NCNP or explore another provider. We’ll help make the transition as smooth as possible.
